Arrival in Shanghai. Meeting at the airport and transfer
to the hotel. Afterwards, you will go to the Bund,
the riverside alameda at the Huangpu River with its
European colonial architecture. You will go across
the Huangpu River by ferry to Pudong, the commercial
centre of Shanghai, with its unique, futuristic scenery.
There, you will visit the 421 m high Jinmao
Building, which is a wonderful blend of traditional
Chinese style with gothic influence. Enjoy a broad
view from the nowadays highest observation deck of
the world down to the city, which extends to the horizon.
After dinner, you can let yourself be enveloped in
the liveliness of Shanghai and enjoy the ever-bright
city in the night.

Today, you will get the possibility to go to the rural areas to experience
the “old China”. You will make an excursion
to the water town Tongli, a beautiful
ancient small town at the Grand Canal with a lot of
anabranches, bridges, alleyways and street markets.
Go on to Suzhou afterwards. Overnight stay there.

Today, you will visit Suzhou, the “Venice of the East”.
There are about 6,000 bridges, which are said to be
found there, Marco Polo has already brimmed over with
enthusiasm for them. Then you will visit the Yipu
Garden (Garden of Cultivation), built in
the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty. It is one
of the nine gardens in Suzhou, which are on the UNESCO
World Heritage List due to their perfect combination
of art, nature and philosophy. Afterwards, you will
visit the most famous Silk Mill.
After that, you will go back to Shanghai and transfer
to the hotel.
