The receipt of your payment represents
your acknowledgement and acceptance of these “Terms and
Conditions”.
Passport and Visa
To enter and leave China all tour participants
must have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months to
expiration. Visa for China is a must for all foreign tourists.
You have to apply for this in your home country on your
own.
Reservation

Booking Form. After receiving the booking form, our
travel operators will assist you in building a pleasant
travel plan which best suits your interests. We suggest
booking as far in advance as possible to ensure, the best
flights and hotels are available; especially for the booking
of Yangtze River Cruises. We cannot accept a reservation
if the desired departure date is within 14 days prior to
tour departure date.
Deposit required:
A non-refundable deposit of 10% of total
cost will be charged within 7 days after you have received
the final booking confirmation. Please find out more about
the Mode of Payment.
Final payment
The final payment is required as follows:
Packages without Yangtze River Cruise:
30 days prior to the tour departure date
Packages with Yangtze River Cruise: 45 days prior to the
tour departure date
If the final booking confirmation took place 15 days prior
to the tour departure date you have to pay at the moment
of final booking. Please find out more about the Mode
of Payment.
Special events (including Formula 1 GP
in Shanghai, Trade-fair in Canton, China Spring Festival,
China’s National Day and International Labor Day, etc.)
may require earlier payment. You will be advised on your
invoice.

Failure to comply with these deposit and
final payment requirements may result in automatic cancellation
of your reservation.
Cancellation Refund
Travellers are free to withdraw from the
contract any time before the beginning of the journey. All
cancellations must be carried out in written form. The day
we receive the cancellation is the crucial day, therefore
send your letter in a timely manner.
If you withdraw from the contract we have
the right to charge you with a loss compensation of
10 % of the total cost if you withdraw
46 days before the travel starts, (not less than US $ 50)
20 % of the total cost if you withdraw
between 45 to 31 days before the travel starts
35 % of the total cost if you withdraw
between 30 to 15 days before the travel starts
50 % of the total cost if you withdraw
between 14 to 7 days before the travel starts
70 % of the total cost if you withdraw
between 6 to 3 days before the travel starts
80 % of the total cost if you withdraw
within 2 days before the travel starts.
If a participant cancels while a tour is in progress, no
refunds are made for any unused portion of the tour.
For domestic flight booking only:
If you withdraw from the contract we have
the right to charge you with a loss compensation of
US$ 12 if you withdraw 7 days before departure
and the ticket was not issued yet
50% of the full fare of the ticket if you
withdraw between 7 to 3 days
100% of the full fare if you withdraw within
3 days until departure day
For hotel booking only:
If you withdraw from the contract we have
the right to charge you with a loss compensation of
US$ 12 if you withdraw 7 days before
the check-in day
50% of the discounted fare if you withdraw
between 7 to 3 days before check-in day
100% of the discounted fare if you withdraw
within 3 days until check-in day
Changesafter deposit
Wishes to change the original arranged
itinerary are acceptable but you will be charged with a
fee of 50 $ US per person for each time. The increase or
reduction of the tour cost affected by the change will be
calculated and charged accordingly.
We reserve the right to modify the itinerary of the tour
if air, cruise and train schedules are changed or events
beyond our control make itinerary alteration necessary.
Services of a similar category and standard will be provided
if such changes are made. In that case, any of the increase
or reduction of the tour costs will be calculated and charged
accordingly.
Baggage
If your baggage is lost, delayed or damaged
during the air transport, you must claim immediately to
the relevant department at the airport.
We highly recommend you to purchase full
coverage travel insurance from a company in your country
because travel insurance policies in most western countries
cover a wide range of circumstances from loss or damage
of baggage, to flight delays and cancellations, etc.
Responsibility & Disclaimer
It is our company's duty to ensure that
all itineraries and accommodations have the specified standard.
Please note that China is still a developing
country, therefore in few cases it can happen that the level
of comfort, service and hygiene does not always meet European
or American standards, our specifications correspond to
the local Chinese standards. This applies to all meals,
hotels, means of transportation etc.
We are not liable for any losses, damages
or injuries of properties or persons, in connexion with
climatic conditions, sea fire, breakdown of machinery or
equipment, acts of government or other authorities, wars,
whether or not declared, civil disturbances, strikes, riots,
thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations,
terrorist activities, or any other actions, omissions or
conditions beyond our control. We are not liable for any
wrongful or negligent acts, omissions, or the failure of
any equipment operated by any suppliers such as transportation
carriers, cruises and hotels, or any other party, not directly
owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for guests’
failure to comply with customs regulations.
We are not liable for theft or loss of
any guest's valuables!
Gross misbehavior that draws a warning
from the tour guide may result in an exclusion from a tour.
In that case we have the right not to compensate and to
refund only the calculated unused part of the journey expenditure.
Many of our tour packages include activities,
which require care and attention. Such activities include
boarding and disembarking, climbing hills and entering and
exiting tombs and caves etc. You will receive help and advice
from our representatives but all activities are undertaken
at your own risk. “China-Explorer” employees and agents
cannot be liable for any action or event that occurs after
they have pulled their duty and taken the necessary care.
Complaints and Claims
If you feel unsatisfied with any service
we have provided, please inform your local tour guide or
us during your trip. In case of a complaint or claim for
compensation, you must inform us in written form by e-mail,
regular mail or fax until 15 days after the end of your
tour. Relevant receipts and supporting evidence must be
attached to the letter of claim. We will not accept any
claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your
tour.
Health Requirement
All tour participants must possess physical
or mental conditions adequate to traveling. We assume no
liability in any respect of the tourist’s ability to travel.
Travelers who are going to Tibet are required to provide
a doctor's certificate stating that their blood pressure
and heart condition are normal. Travelers with high blood
pressure and heart problems should avoid such altitudes.
Travelers with disabilities:
Tour participants requiring any form of assistance are required
to inform “China-Explorer” in written form at the time of
reservation, and must be accompanied by a responsible person
providing those services. All related costs are at the expense
of the tourist.
Validity: All fees are
based on current exchange rates and are subject of changes.
If the U.S. dollar devalues significantly we reserve the
right to increase prices accordingly.
Private Police
We are committed to protect your privacy.
All personal information you give us will remain confidential.
We will neither sell nor disclose any information that identifies
you to a third party without your prior consent unless required
by law.

All the contents and materials used in
“China-Explorer.com” including all texts, photographs; graphics,
names and the logo are our property and are protected by
copyright, trademark and other laws. All those contents
and displays are purely for your personal, non-commercial
use.
Arrangements between “China-Explorer” and
travelers are subject to Chinese law.
