Chinese Export Commodities Fair, also called Canton Fair
(CECF), is held in Guangzhou twice a year in spring and
autumn since it was inaugurated in the spring of 1957. The
CECF is co-hosted by Ministry of Commerce of PRC and People's
Government of Guangdong Province. The Fair, a comprehensive
trade fair of international importance, has won its reputation
as "China's NO.1 Fair" because of its long history,
its high level, its large scale, the big number of exhibited
items, the worldwide distribution of overseas buyers and
the greatest business turnover in China.
In China, many exhibitors see trade fairs
as a good place to seek business opportunities and the CECF
their first choice. Around the world, more and more business
people take a look at China, Chinese enterprises and high-quality
products. After the development of 47 years, the CECF now
is a famous promoter of international trade.
Forty-eight Chinese Trading Delegations, representing thousands
of China's foreign trade corporations (enterprises) with
good credibility and sound financial capabilities, including
foreign trade companies, factories, scientific research
institutions, foreign invested enterprises, wholly foreign-owned
enterprises, private enterprises, etc., take part in the
Fair.
Each session, the CECF attracts over 10,000
outstanding Chinese enterprises and a huge number of buyers
from over 200 countries and regions. At the Spring Fair
of 2004, nearly 300,000 exhibitors and buyers attended the
CECF and the trade volume reached 27.2 billion US dollars.
The CECF' s supply and buy system is effective and comprises
great business opportunities.
Even though the Fair is an export orientated
fair, import business is also done here. Apart from the
above-mentioned, various types of business activities such
as economic and technical co-operation and exchange business,
commodity inspection, insurance, transportation, advertising,
consultation, etc. are also carried out. Business people
from all over the world come together in Guangzhou, exchanging
business information and developing friendship.
Chinese
government hopes the CECF will continuously help to improve
Chinese economy, to expand exportation and to enhance Sino-foreign
communication. CECF insist on a scientific strategy of human-orientated,
harmonious and sustainable development while learning advanced
experience acquired by world's renowned fairs. CECF shall
spare no efforts in fair innovating and providing quality
services in order to promote trade, economic and social
development.
The CECF' s history records not
only the development of a fair, but also the political,
economic and cultural communications between China and the
rest of the world. Today, economy develops globally and
convenient transportation brings us together. You will gain
much more than you expected if you come to visit the dynamic
China and her Canton Fair (CECF), which embraces boundless
opportunities.
